Formula
Dodge Racing, Laguna Seca Raceway, Monterey, California
 |
| Larry
takes his position in a Formula Dodge. These racing machines
sure feel like the Formula One's you see on TV. You need a full
day's training at Laguna Seca Raceway to familiarize yourself
with the handing of the vehicle. |
|

|
Everyone
is suited up in a fireproof racing uniform as well as a fireproof
head covering. It takes a minute or so to wedge yourself into the
race car. Controls are straight forward but very, very responsive. |
|

|
Getting
onto the track is very SWILD. The rumble of the engines starting,
the smell of the gas fumes, and the roar of your adrenaline sure makes
you feel alive. |
|

|
Paul is zooming
around the track against the clock. Some of the turns are terrifying.
If you go too fast, you'll hit the wall at the other side. Not a
nice prospect. It is essential to use your gears appropriately.
Anticipation and finding the line can be very tricky to master.
